What Can I Expect from a Massage?
A warm, friendly welcome! The therapist of your choice will meet with you and ask you to fill out a short personal history and medical information form. You will have an opportunity to ask as many questions as you want before your session. Your massage will be conducted in a comfortable, private room with your choice of soothing music or ambient sound. Most standard massage sessions last one hour. Basically, it will be a wonderful, quiet, relaxing time to heal and take a break from the stress of your day.

Is it Necessary to Disrobe Completely?
You may do whatever is comfortable for you. A massage is most effective if most of the client’s clothing is removed because this allows the therapist to be in direct contact with skin and makes tissue and muscle manipulation much easier. The client is covered by a sheet at all times, ensuring privacy. There are certain styles of massage that may be given fully clothed if you prefer, such as Reflexology, Acupressure, and Chair Massage. The most important thing is for you to feel comfortable, and we will customize your session to make sure that happens.

Will I Experience any Discomfort?
While it is possible that you may experience some level of discomfort during your massage, keep in mind that the best way to avoid discomfort is to communicate with your therapist about what you are feeling, especially if it does not feel good to you.

How Will I Feel Afterwards?
Great! After a massage, most people feel refreshed, relaxed, and at peace. A massage can be very effective in reducing pain, tension, and stress. Regular massage sessions, whether weekly or monthly, can move your health to a whole new level!

Why is Drinking Water Important After Massage?
Drinking lots of good-quality water is always important. One of the best tools of preventive health maintenance is drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day! More specifically, it is best to drink one-half ounce of water for every pound that you weigh. The human body is composed of 70% water, and water is involved in nearly every bodily function, including digestion, nutrient absorption, circulation, and waste excretion. During a massage, waste products are massaged out of the muscles into the blood stream. Drinking extra water after a massage helps to eliminate these waste products from the body.
